The Kenyan Government has announced that starting January 1, 2024, travelers to Kenya won’t need a Visa. Instead, they will apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). This new eTA system has replaced the previous eVisa system and is currently active.
To apply, visit the official ETA Kenya website eTA KENYA and follow the simple application steps. There’s a processing fee of USD 30, which you pay online during the application process. Every non-Kenyan visitor, including infants and children, must have an approved eTA before beginning their journey to the Republic of Kenya.

ENERAL INFORMATION ON KENYA’S ETA SYSTEM:
The Ministry of Interior and National Administration, through the State Department for Immigration and Citizenship, has created and currently manages the Republic of Kenya Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA). This Kenya eTA is a semi-automated system that helps determine if visitors are eligible to travel to Kenya. While an eTA provides permission to travel, it doesn’t guarantee entry into Kenya. Immigration officers will decide if a traveler can enter when they arrive. Kenyan citizens and citizens of East African Community (EAC) Partner States do not need an eTA.

It’s crucial to submit your eTA application for Kenya at least 3 days before your travel date to ensure timely approval. However, you have the flexibility to apply as early as 3 months before your trip.
